I could not imagine truly committing my time to writing essays about how David Hume has influenced the development of skepticism and empiricism or calculate multi-variable calculus problems after classes in focus report, the city light and busy night restaurants waiting for me to come down and have a cup of coffee and chat with the strangers. I thought for my academic life I could sacrifice my social life for high GPAs and good recommendation letters from professors. Choosing from the extreme social life verses academic life I finally found out that college is not what the college can offer to me.

College is the place where I can make what I want from my college years with my own preference. All the resources are right in and out of the campus for me. Essayist. College matters because I matter as a college student in this society. There is nothing wrong with the American colleges. The colleges stand as they did when my mother and father enjoyed celebrity guest speaker session in the dorm lounges. It is the society and the very world that the American colleges and the college student stand that has changed. The competition and the multitasking skill that the society requires from the students will not accept being truly free from family, academics, and career-related activities. If I can turn back time to emerson when I was a senior in high school choosing the called college again, I still would not at all want to spend four years at a small suburban all-women’s college. Within this misconception I see a divisive attitude amongst peers. On one side of this division, career oriented majors, such as pre-med, pre-law, finance or economics harbor students who look at college as merely an investment, or another step of sacrifice on the track to success.
